Pest and rodent control is a set of different measures taken to reduce the population of harmful rodents below the edge of harmfulness, to stop reproduction or to completely destroy the present population of harmful rodents, which are natural reservoirs and carriers of infectious disease agents or storage pests, and carried out by mechanical, physical or chemical measures.

Mechanical pest control measures include timely removal of waste and other material suitable for the development of harmful rodents, relocation of stocks, removal of possible habitats, installation of obstacles (such as nets), use of traps, adhesive tapes with or without attractants.

Physical measures of pest control include procedures for the use of ultrasound to prevent the entry and retention of harmful rodents. Chemical measures of pest control include the use of rodenticides. It means exposure of poisoned baits with II. generation anticoagulants, aimed at reducing the total population of harmful rodents below the edge of harmfulness, stopping reproduction or completely destroying the present population of harmful rodents.
