Disinfection is a set of different measures that are carried out with the aim of destroying, slowing the growth and reproduction or eliminating microorganisms. It is carried out by mechanical, physical or chemical measures.

Mechanical measures of disinfection include mechanical removal of microorganisms from work surfaces, objects or in the space as independent methods of removing microorganisms. It means creating preconditions for successful implementation of other disinfection processes, and are carried out by scraping, sweeping, degreasing and washing, filtration,
ventilation and deposition.

Physical measures of disinfection include the use of heat (dry or humid), which by their action destroys, slows down the growth and reproduction, or removes most microorganisms.

Chemical measures of disinfection include the use of chemicals, that is, disinfectants, which by their action destroy, slow down the growth and reproduction or eliminate most organisms.
